Expulsion of the Jews Throughout History

We all too often hear of the "persecution of the Jews," of Jews as victims, but we never hear WHY the Jews were persecuted. Surely, with so many nations throughout history forcing the Jews from their midst, the Jews must have done at least something to warrant their expulsion.
