Israel rains fire on Gaza with phosphorus shells

Israel is believed to be using controversial white phosphorus shells to screen its assault on the heavily populated Gaza Strip yesterday. The weapon, used by British and US forces in Iraq, can cause horrific burns but is not illegal if used as a smokescreen.

What most people don't understand is that Israel is illegally occupying Palestinian land. And basically starving them out. The duly elected Hamas is simply resisting or fighting back as best they can. Wouldn't you fight back if an outside force came into your nation, bulldozed your 1000 year old orchards - your means of earning a living, then your homes, thereby making it extremely difficult to live in your own country, and then the outside force starts building new settlements in your country, in your old neighborhood, while you look on? Would you not be angry? Would you not fight back?
